About Us

Lerner and Belen

Founded by Katrina Belen, Psy.D. and David Lerner, Ph.D., ABPP-CN, our practice combines advanced clinical expertise with a warm, collaborative approach. We believe that high-quality neuropsychological care is not just about testing, it’s about listening to each person’s story, understanding their challenges, and providing answers and guidance that make a real difference.

We are passionate about helping individuals and families understand how the brain works, and how changes in thinking, memory, mood, or behavior can affect daily life. Our mission is to provide compassionate, thorough, and personalized care that empowers our clients to move forward with clarity and confidence.

Our Practice Philosophy

We believe that neuropsychological evaluation is most valuable when it leads to real-world understanding and meaningful next steps. Every assessment is tailored to the individual, integrating cognitive testing, psychological evaluation, medical history, and contextual factors to provide a comprehensive picture of brain-behavior relationships. We translate complex findings into clear, actionable recommendations to support medical treatment, legal decision-making, rehabilitation planning, and everyday functioning.

Our Approach

We understand that seeking a neuropsychological evaluation can feel overwhelming, whether you’re concerned about a loved one’s memory, recovering from an injury, or navigating a complex legal process. Our goal is to make the experience supportive, collaborative, and useful.

During each evaluation, we take the time to truly understand your concerns, explain every step of the process, and ensure that results are presented in a way that is clear and meaningful. We don’t just hand you a report; we provide guidance, recommendations, and next steps you can use.

Our team also values connection and collaboration. Over the years, we’ve built strong relationships with local neurologists, primary care providers, therapists, rehabilitation programs, attorneys, and community organizations. This allows us to help coordinate care and connect you with the right resources to support your ongoing journey.
